Erik Bulakowski

I am obsessed with guitars.

I’ve always been this way.

This has certainly defined much of my life. Through the years I have constantly been learning, tweaking, restoring or building. I studied violin making in college and apprenticed at a shop in NYC. I spent a few years in the South gigging 5 nights a week while working music retail during the day. I managed production in a machine shop learning how to really refine and streamline a process. Then, I took a chance on a career change and formally studied guitar making in Michigan. Currently, I work as a touring guitar tech and build out of a Luthier based guitar shop in Fountain Square in Indianapolis. All that has lead me here, to the creation of Bula Guitars. Here, my goal is to make guitars that nod to the past, are modern day dependable, and can inspire players.
